Alpha Industries

The history: Alpha Industries, Inc. started in 1959 in Knoxville, TN. It was founded by Samuel Gelber, and his business partner Herman “Breezy” Wynn. That same year, the duo landed a subcontracting agreement with the Department of Defense and began manufacturing the original MA-1 flight jacket. By the 1960s, and after several successful contracts, Alpha Industries became one of the biggest manufacturers for the U.S. armed forces. In the 1970s, having produced such classic and iconic pieces as the MA-1 flight jacket, L2-B flight jacket, and N-2B parka, Alpha Industries was ready to enter the commercial market. Unlike its competitors, Alpha Industries commercial releases were exact replicas of those produced for the armed forces.

Why we love them: With such a rich history in manufacturing apparel for the armed forces, these military-inspired pieces are truly cla-sik designs updated with modern fits. They make for some seriously badazz, G.I. Jane looks!

One phrase: Show me yer war face!
